X-Ray Collimators
A collimator is a device that limits the radiation output of an X-ray source. Without a collimator, X-rays would escape which would flood the detector with radiation and prevent a clear image from being attained. Collimators help to reduce the unused portion of X-ray radiation.
Our collimators are designed to limit the angle of X-ray beam divergence in directional beam applications.
The X-ray collimator is made from lead.
We offers a set of collimators designed to fit MART-200 tubehead providing different angles of beam divergence. The types of collimators included in the kit are listed in the fugure below.
Each collimator is a lead diaphragm assembled with a holder to fix the collimator on the end of the tubehead.
A collimator selection guide is provided in Figure В.2. For example, use a collimator with divergence angle of 40×30° and focal distance of 400 mm to achieve exposure size of about 300×210 mm.
